Sitemap - Useful Links - The National Electrical Certification and Training Alliance Limited (NECTA) is the leading provider of electrical safety services in the U.K. As a result of the vast experience we have gained in assisting companies throughout the country to comply with current standards and legislation we can rightly term ourselves electrical safety specialists.
NECTA directly employs over 80 Electrical Inspectors and does not use sub-contracted labour. These Inspectors are subjected to 3 monthly competency assessments to ensure that our high service delivery standards are maintained and that our workforce is able to work competently and safely on-site.
The NECTA service provides the following benefits:
Partnering Scheme
Companies entering into inspection and testing programmes with NECTA are issued training vouchers which can be redeemed against brochured courses and assist in compliance with Regulation 16 of the 'Electricity at Work Regulations 1989'. Companies are also issued with our 'General Code of Practice' for safe working on low voltage electrical systems, which if adhered to, can help provide a defence in the event of an incident under Regulation 29 of the 'Electricity at Work Regulations 1989'.
Representation to Insurers
Subject to client wishes, NECTA will communicate directly with their Insurance Company/Broker confirming the clients commitment to a Safe Place of Work, Safe People at Work and Safe Systems of Work with respect to the 'Electricity at Work Regulations 1989' and 'BS7671:2008, IEE 17th Edition Wiring Regulations'.
Representation to the HSE
In the event that a client experiences an electrically related incident, NECTA will act as an intermediary between the client and the HSE.
E-mail Hotline Support
A hotline support service, will be available for NECTA clients in respect of legislative and technical compliance with the 'Electricity at Work Regulations 1989' and 'BS7671:2008' and assistance with electrical training issues.
Consultancy Advice
NECTA clients will be entitled to free consultation on statutory and non-statutory electrical legislation, Safe Working Procedures, Risk Assessment Methodology and technical advice, i.e. Earthing and Bonding, Use of Protective Devices etc.
Training Needs Analysis
NECTA clients will be entitled to a free diagnostic of their training needs relative to levels of competence and current City & Guilds standards.
Technical Updates
Technical updates highlighting additions/amendments to statutory and non-statutory electrical regulations will be issued bi-annually. Updates on all related City & Guilds courses will be issued as will information and guidance on a range of electrical topics.
Safety Conferences
NECTA Safety Conferences run at various locations throughout the year, covering such topics as Corporate Manslaughter, HSE visits, insurance viewpoints and much more. Find out more here.
