17th Edition Training - City & Guilds electrician training for 17th Edition wiring regulations.
In January 2008 the 16th Edition Wiring Regulations were superseded by the BS7671:2008 17th Edition. NECTA offer the new 17th Edition City & Guilds 2382-10 qualification. For those who require a refresher from the 16th Edition we also offer the City & Guilds 2382-20 17th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) update qualification. The revised standard is necessary to ensure that the document remains technically aligned to European Harmonisation Documents. Changes in the new regulations include:
Requirements for Earthing and Bonding within Bathrooms to be radically changed.
Additional training procedures to be introduced and permitted test values altered.
Protection requirements for cables buried within the fabric of the building to alter significantly.
Requirements for shock protection of socket outlets to change.
As well as being renumbered, many definitions will alter and new terminology introduced.

Between January and May 2008 over 1500 students have taken the New City & Guilds 2382 - 17th Edition Wiring Regulations Qualification with NECTA and an impressive 98% pass rate has been achieved. There are two options available to students; an update course for individuals who have successfully completed a 16th Edition qualification or similar within the last 5 years or the full qualification for those who fall outside those parameters.
